We hold and participate in special and memorable events throughout the school year. The following is an overview of our special school year events.
Grandparents Day
Grandparents and special friends are invited to our campus to participate in school day activities and to be honored for the significant impact they have on our students’ lives. Our school is blessed to host Grandparents Day each year in the fall, and invitations will be available at that time.
ACS Cornerstone has school on Veterans Day so that students have the opportunity to learn about the sacrifice that our military veterans have made for our country. We hold an all-school assembly and invite veterans of our students’ families—and also the community—to honor them. Each year our students enjoy hearing a military or veteran speaker. Students also perform special Veteran’s Day presentations such as songs and speeches.
This exciting and fun service opportunity is for third grade through high school students, along with parent volunteers. Students, staff, and parents travel to a local business where stations are set up for volunteers to hand-pack meals specifically formulated for malnourished children. Feed My Starving Children then ships these meals to their distribution partners. Feed My Starving Children is a non-profit Christian organization committed to feeding God’s children hungry in body and spirit.
